The Jeep 750AG (2011-2017 Compass/Patriot) comes with both advantages and disadvantages, depending on your specific needs and preferences. Here's a breakdown of the pros and cons of this vehicle:
Pros:1. Reliability: Jeeps are known for their durability, and the Compass/Patriot is no exception. With proper maintenance, these vehicles can last for many years.
2. Fuel Efficiency: The CVT transmission on some models improves fuel economy, making it a more cost-effective choice for daily commutes.
3. Off-Road Capabilities: Although it's a compact SUV, the Jeep Compass/Patriot still offers decent off-road capabilities, thanks to its Jeep Trailer Sway Control and Hill Descent Control features.
4. Safety Features: The Compass/Patriot comes equipped with several safety features, such as electronic stability control, anti-lock braking system, and side-curtain airbags.
Cons:1. Low Resale Value: Jeeps, in general, tend to depreciate faster than other vehicles in their class. This might impact the resale value of the Compass/Patriot.
2. Ride Quality: Some owners have reported that the ride can be a bit rough, especially on models with the larger 17-inch wheels.
3. Interior Quality: The interior of the Compass/Patriot may not be as luxurious as some competitors, with less premium materials used in its construction.
4. Power: The base 2.0L engine may feel underpowered, especially when carrying a heavy load or towing a trailer.
In conclusion, the Jeep 750AG (2011-2017 Compass/Patriot) can be a practical choice for those seeking a reliable, fuel-efficient, and capable compact SUV for everyday use, particularly if off-road adventures are a priority. However, potential buyers should be aware of the lower-than-average resale value, potential ride quality issues, and less luxurious interior compared to some competitors.
If you prioritize off-road capabilities and reliability, the Compass/Patriot could be a good fit for you, particularly if you can find a well-maintained used model at a reasonable price. On the other hand, if you value a smoother ride, a more luxurious interior, or a vehicle with stronger resale value, you might want to consider other options in the compact SUV class.
